KKFI

Started in 1988, KKFI has been the Kansas City area’s independent, noncommercial community radio station for more than two decades now. The KKFI studios have been in 4 different locations in that time, all in the Westport area. We are fortunate to have a license to operate a 100,000-watt transmitter, the most powerful allowed by FCC regulations.We seek to stimulate, educate and entertain our audience, to reflect the diversity of the local and world community, and to provide a channel for individuals and groups, issues and music that have been overlooked, suppressed or under-represented by other media.
