Talking Information Center is an Award winning radio reading service for the blind and visually impaired. Our mission is to provide visually-impaired and print-handicapped people access to the printed word and to provide audience-specific information in the form of timely broadcast programming.How TIC Was FormedTIC was born out of a passion and desire to bring the printed word to life for thousands of residents in Massachusetts that desperately needed access to information that otherwise was to them.In 1977, Ed Perry of Duxbury, was granted an FCC license to operate WATD-FM. Ed had heard about reading services in other parts of the country. Knowing there were available in New England, Ed promised to donate his SCA signal for use as a radio reading service. When WATD went on the air in 1977, Ron Bersani, a teacher at Marshfield High School volunteered to help out when things got started. Ron is executive director today.
