Valley Voice is a radio reading service for the print handicapped. It is a non profit service to provide information from print publications to people who can not read because of a physical or visual impairment. We help Shenandoah Valley residents who are blind, who suffer from visual problems, who can not hold a book, turn pages, or focus on print material. We aim to supply daily information from local newspapers, periodicals, and magazines to approximately 10,000 individuals.Valley Voice Readers Valley Voice uses special subcarrier radios or Cable TV channels to deliver the service free of charge to listeners. We purchase the radios with money from donations and grants, then lend them to qualified individuals. The listeners then get access to the local information that they need. Within many areas the signal is available on Cable TV.
